fdS19. Warm Fuzzy Wags
The Salty Dog Rag is one of my favorite folkdance tunes. I learned it
(from a lively recording by Red Foley) as a wild couple dance. Later I
created a 'sit-down', no-partner dance for it (to make it more usable
for beginners & for folks who have difficulty standing up). The 'warm
fuzzies' referred to (& the 'cold pricklies') come from a Transactional
Analysis story called "A Fuzzy Tale".
Warm
Fuzzy Wags. Hear my 1st verse here.
I'm gonna sit right down in an empty space,
I'll pick up a smile & I'll put it on my face.
I'm gonna say "I love you, like my very own mother!"
Because to tell you the truth, you really are 'my other'!
Now, to say "I love you" is no disgrace
(or to give a holy hug or an otherly embrace)!
I'll pack all my 'cold pricklies' in a green garbage bag
and beautify this world with my 'warm fuzzy' wags!
Let's all sit down on the seat of our pants,
call the rest of our uncles & the rest of our aunts.
We'll tell the prison guards to empty out the jails
and we'll all get together & tell some funny tales.
We'll sing & we'll dance & we'll have a feast,
the rich with the poor & the fleecers with the fleeced.
We'll pack all our 'cold pricklies' in green garbage bags
and beautify this world with our 'warm fuzzy' wags!
