We must always try to overcome!
Everybody knows this tune. It is a great unifier, but it's time for us
to realize that it's our arrogance that we need to keep trying to
overcome because that is what is keeping us apart. We'll
probably never overcome it completely, but we gotta keep trying! That's
why I felt compelled to re-write this wonderful song. I see no sense
in our continuing to sing we 'shall' overcome if it is pretty nearly
impossible for us to ever overcome it completely!
