I looked back and saw my father and his father and all our fathers, and in front to see my son and his son, and the sons upon sons beyond. And their eyes were my eyes. As I felt so they had felt, and were to feel, as then, so now, as tomorrow and forever. Then I was not afraid for I was in a long line that had no beginning and no end. And the hand of his father grasped my father's hand and his hand was in mine, and my unborn son took my right hand and all, up and down the line that stretched from Time That Was to Time That is Not Yet, raised their hands to show the link. And we found that we were one......" Quoted from a book by Richard Llewellyn |

(1)John A. Pepper Clark, born 1822, married Elizabeth Richardson and had four children:
Robert Pepper, born 1808, 1809, or 1810 in Wal…..??, Ireland, Protestant, occupation tailor. Emigrated to Canada and lived in Bytown, Upper Canada (now city of Ottawa) in years 1851/2. In 1861 he appears in the City Census of Kingston, Ontario, Frontenace Ward (frame 139) Believe he served in the Royal Canadian Rifles Regiment, pension awarded 28 June, 1853. Robert died 28 January, 1872 .
I believe Robert married 3 times. 2 male children are absent from the 1861 Census but their father has declared that they are children of his first wife. Children, Robert born in Bytown in approx. 1849 and Ruth Pepper born in Bytown in approx. 1851 are children of a deceased second wife.
In the 1871 Census there is a 3rd wife, Sarah (nee Turner), mother of Charlotte Pepper born 1860, Charles George Pepper, born 1862, Ellen Pepper born 1865 and Edward John Pepper (deceased).
Charles George Pepper was a printer by trade in Ottawa, Ontario and served as an Alderman for 3 decades. He married Christy Ann Biledo when he was 26 and she was 25. Christy was born in Douglas, Ontario. Charles and Christy had children: Edith Pepper, born 1891,

George Pepper had no issue. Evelyn Pepper never married.
