History by Numbers

No intelligent person would write a book about the 20th century being 1901-2000
simply because anyone intelligent enough realizes that those cutoff dates are
correct but artificial. The century from 1851-1950 saw history progress from
the industrial revolution to the atomic bomb. It saw the most dreadful wars of
all time from the US Civil War to WW II. There's nothing magical about
1901-2000 or 1801-1900. So one can spot the junk quite simply. Any media that
covers a time frame that is artificial such as 1900-1999 is a sign that it was
created by a moron. It also shows why no one has bothered to do it right.
Because anyone intelligent enough to do it right also knows that it is nonsense
in the first place to do it at all. More generally one can also infer that
anyone who refers to Centuries or Millennia as if they actually meant something
is a moron.
