Sources of Help

The first major thing to realize is that the WEB is growing, and we at the Hamilton-Community Net are growing along with everyone else. Today's fads of COOKIES, JAVASCRIPT, and other features of WEB design are neat for those who have advanced capacities; but we must REMEMBER that most of our clients are still in TEXT mode.

To this end, let's remember that as we design WEB pages, they should be capable of being read as TEXT. Here are some useful resources.

In our site at the Hamilton-Community Net we have the following resources, which may be located in the Help Index for Information Providers, at http://www.hwcn.org/Information/iphdbk/HelpIPind.html

This contains links which are internal or external for:

Authoring HTML Documents

File Management

Editing Documents on-Line

One of the best way to find information about coding or other features of the WEB is to use one of the Search Engines (Yahoo for example) which are giant indexes to the WEB.

Canadian Version of Yahoo is at http://www.yahoo.ca

Now part of the Standard and Poors Index, thus making the WEB a key part of business research.

The following are some of the most useful external sites about coding the WEB:

Web page coding - basics

Galaxy Star Grove - HTML Code

http://gsg.grove.ok.us/htmlc.htm

Creating a Legal Web Site

As well, as you surf the WEB you will find other resources which are useful and helpful for your specific needs.

Best of luck in your designing.
