Support Group Fundraising M.E. & You newsletters

 

 

 

The Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Association of Halton & Hamilton-Wentworth is a charitable organization registered with Revenue Canada.  The Association was established in 1991.

Role of the M.E. Association:

SUPPORT SERVICES

  • drop-in resource center
  • information telephone line providing individual callers with support, information and suggestions
  • running local support groups
  • maintaining a library of resource material

RAISING PUBLIC AWARENESS

  • distribution of information pamphlets
  • publication of bi-annual newsletter & other bulletins
  • public speaking engagements
  • information packages sent on request
  • media attention
  • public speakers

DATABASE INFORMATION

  • collecting permissible data on people with M.E./CFS for statistical purposes

LIAISON WITH THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY

  • supplying medical information packages
  • providing medical updates to interested physicians
  • sponsoring lectures by experts on M.E./CFS
  • assisting with research studies and surveys

LIAISON WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS

  • sharing information and newsletters with other M.E./CFS organizations
  • communication with other health organizations in the area

GOAL FOR THE FUTURE

  • to work with local health care authorities to establish a multi-disciplinary clinic to provide optimal medical care to people with M.E./CFS

The M.E. Association is run solely by volunteers affected by M.E./CFS.  We rely on private donations to fund our services.  Please consider supporting our work with a tax deductible donation.
