The meeting was called to order by the Chair at 7:05 p.m.

1. ADOPTION OF THE MINUTES:

The minutes of February 19, 03 were approved as revised with a spelling error corrected (Lise).

Membership: No new memberships noted

Communications:
We have received a note from Gisele Portelance thanking us for our help with Kindergarten Information nights. Attendance at the FI Info Nights was as follows: GR Allan: 30, Glen Echo: 70, Norwood Park: 40, Waterdown: 10
FIAC meetings - Roz to attend next one at Board Wednesday, March 26, 2003 Agenda : exit forms, SK information nights, number of FI students in schools, Kindergarten videos

3. SPECIAL EVENTS

French Course
An evaluation sheet re: course content, instruction etc. was distributed to students during the last night of class.
Annette Ray is considering teaching the Basic French course again in Fall/Winter 2003
Due to copyright issues an electronic copy of course material not available from CPF Newfoundland. Lori & Marie volunteered to work over the summer to correct and update the existing material.

Annual General Meeting
Date: April 24, 2003 7:00 p.m.
Location: Glen Echo gym Roz has provided a map and directions to all speakers.
Agenda: FI in 2010 - Gisele: ongoing changes and trends, Ted Karp: advocacy
Door Prizes: Mary Finstad - Walker's Chocolate, Turtle Pond and Poster Pals, Julie Senecal- Tremblay - Room for Dessert
Refreshments: Mike - Tim Horton's coffee, Roz - Water and cold drinks
Sale: Lori Prevec confirmed Usborne Books coming to display and sell books/materials Poster Pals is also attending
Promotion: Newsletter, posters to be distributed and posted in FI schools, Channel 14 (Kaywana), send out e-mail to all Hamilton Wentworth CPF members
AGM: Financial report will be emailed to Executive
Lori Prevec will take minutes of the AGM

Book Sale
Confirmed with Champlain by Marie over March Break. Advertisements were handed out to French course participants, French community will receive them. Roz will make posters.

4. APRIL NEWSLETTER
Draft distributed. Final newsletters will be distributed by representatives from each school rather than by Board mail to ensure that principals receive them. Final will be ready Monday, March 31 for pickup after 6:30 p.m. at Roz's, Posters for Annual General Meeting also.

5. SCHOOL BOARD NEWS
Lori Prevec brought information forward about Phase II Accommodation Review -keep an eye on this process until June.
Waterdown parents gathering names for potential FI school.
