The Chair called the meeting to order.

1. Annual Report 2004 - 2005

Review of Annual Report.
Motion by Sean Crockett to accept Annual Report for 2004-2005.
Frank Torelli seconded.
Motion carried.

2. Financial Statements ~ Audited

Review of Financial Statements as presented within Annual report. Roz Minaji highlighted expenses for year, income for the year, and balance of $2,408.02 as of March 31, 2005.

Motion to accept Financial Statements as presented by Kaywana Gargarello
Frank Torelli seconded.
Motion carried.

4. Review of April 6, 2005 Minutes

Review of Minutes by members, accepted.

Volunteer Hours: 90

Membership:
Sean Crockett reported on behalf of Carrie, six (6) new memberships, and three (3) renewals.
Total membership is 103.

Communications:
CHML - Radio Coverage - Roz Minaji and Dianne MacKenzie participated in radio segments promoting French Immersion and SEVEC. This was a great opportunity for our chapter to have this exposure.

5. ONGOING CHAPTER INITIATIVES

SEVEC UPDATE:
Deborah reported that we have 37 participants. The additional students are in Core French.

Quebec as 43 confirmed participants. Issue of smoking has been identified. There may be six (6) participants double billeted. Roz Minaji, Deborah Doody has confirmed to have two billets at their homes. Kaywana Gargarello and Frank Torelli have expressed willingness to assist in this component of the exchange.

Agenda of Exchange was shared with members of Executive:
- Christie's Conservation
- Niagara Falls, including Maid of the Mist, Butterfly Conservatory and Under the Falls
- Sports World in Kitchener
- Science Centre
- Wild Water Works
- Toronto - Day in Toronto to include boat cruise
- Canada's Wonderland
- Talent Show & Pot Luck

CPF thanks sponsors of the exchange, Tralco; United Rentals. Ron English expressed willingness to follow-up with donations next week. Spectacular job done by Deborah Doody in coordinating the exchange. Recognition and thanks Deb.

MEMBER APPRECIATION:
Member Appreciation at the St. Jean picnic at Pier 4 Park Sunday June 26.
The rental cost for the cotton candy machine and supplies is $154.00.
Children's performer hired by Lisa Breton.

There will be arts and crafts, doll making activities, jazz and bingo activities.

BBQ for Chapter, hosted by Roz Minaji on June 25, 2005.

SUMMER CAMP PLANNING:
This initiative will be placed on the books for next year. Kaywana Gargarello and Roz Minaji will attend Board meeting with Lisa Breton. Application for Trillium Grant will be made with Lisa Breton.

ARTFO FESTIVAL:
Event includes talent show, French book show, and art show. Takes place at the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce. Shared information on this event, to include rehearsal/workshop and dinner. Winner of contest will receive CD - Studio Contract.

5. PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARD ISSUES

The Board is reviewing their policy on Transportation. CPF Hamilton-Wentworth has prepared a formal submission to the Policy Review Committee asking that French Immersion be considered for busing.
Important to make view known to your Trustee. CPF will continue to attend meetings, and forward information on development. June 6, 2005 next meeting, all members encouraged to attend
Over the summer the Ministry of Education will calculate funding formula for FI students survey.

Roz reported that she will continue to attend FIAC on behalf of CPF.

6. SEPARATE SCHOOL BOARD ISSUES

Dianne MacKenzie contacted Cathedral High School regarding French Immersion Promotional video. Maria Brenyo, special assignment for this project. Key to support her in assignment.

Cathedral High School - 30 Grade 9 students confirmed for September enrolment FI.

Numbers sound solid within the programs.
