Communications:
Roz reported updating the Splash page on the Website each month as well as adding meeting minutes and agendas. Our Hotmail account has received several inquiries regarding the French Course being offered by CPF in 2003. Roz is trying to find out who was the winner of the CPF Ontario McGillivary award. CPF Hamilton-Wentworth nominated Claudette Sims in May 2002.

3. SPECIAL EVENTS:

French Concert Debriefing:
Total revenues reported were $587.00. Costs were approximately $700.00. Sales were extremely good considering this was the first event sponsored by CPF H-W.

Things to do differently for future concerts:
· Provide order forms upfront, as opposed to random sales tables at schools
· Remove stairs from stage so children cannot climb
· Have performers let parents and children know at the beginning of concert that moving around and dancing and singing is allowed
· Get better advance information from rental location, including sound system, lighting, etc.
· Stage crew needs to stick around and pay attention; their absence during the performance was not appropriate and led to sound problems.
· Screen performers' music choices, the devil story was not appropriate for this age level

Proposed Events for 2003:

French Course: (January-April) see below

Information Kiosk at Limeridge Mall (February) Hosted by Norwood Park School - Roz to contact Debbie Edwards for dates and offer CPF's help with the booth.

Kindergarten Information Nights (February & March) - Once the FI consultant is named, CPF will coordinate dates so that we bring our booth and appear at the meetings to answer questions from a parent's perspective about the FI program in Hamilton.

Annual General Meeting: (April) -We will need a speaker. When the new FI consultant is named by the Board, contact will be made to see what resources we can draw from. We could also contact CPF Ontario for speaker ideas.

Book Sale (May) Both Earl Kitchener as well as G.R. Allan are available

Concours Public Speaking Contest (May) - Marie Patenaude has the information from CPF Ontario and plans to work with her Grade 5 class to prepare an entry. Marie also plans to e-mail all FI teachers and ask them if they would like to be involved. This event needs to be teacher driven.

4. SCHOOL BOARD NEWS

Marie to confirm with Catherine Youngblud the use of G.R. Allan provided we rent the classroom. Marie & Craig will make 26 copies of the course material. Marie will confirm dates of the course with the teacher Annette Ray. Craig has offered to drive the teacher to class each week and will be a non-paying member of the class. Marie will go over the course material with Ms. Ray.

Tracey will prepare an updated membership list so that CPF members can be offered first chance at taking the course.

Roz to send written course logistics to Annette Ray. Roz to prepare the application form with date, location cost, etc. and contact all CPF members to see if they are interested.
