Some thoughts From our members.

In anthologies of prayers I often come across the unusual and memorable.
I particularly like the brief
"Prayer of the Ox" by Carmen de Gasztold.

Give me time to eat

Give me time to plod,

Give me time to sleep,

Give me time to think.

I don't know about you, but many times I've felt like that ox.

In this busy world, we need to find a time of quiet contemplation everyday away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.  In this context these words from Mother Theresa are particularly worth thinking about:

"We need to find god, and He cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence.  See how nature- trees, flowers, grass- grow in silence. See the stars, the moon and sun, how they move in silence.  Is not our mission to give God to others through the Word?  Not a dead God, but a living, loving, sharing God.  The more we receive in silent prayer, the more we can give our active life.  We need silence to be able to touch souls.  the essential thing is not what we say, but what God says to us, through us.  All our words will bee useless unless they come from within- words which do not give the light of Christ increase the darkness."

So, she reminds me of John 8:12

I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD!
