The Shovelbums mailing list is dedicated solely to to CRM related job announcements. I moderate this list to ensure that only relevant announcements are posted. There is absolutely no discussion of any issues on this list, just job announcements.
The philosophy of this list is simple. There are numerous web based CRM job boards on the web, but it takes time to visit them all and that takes time out of your schedule, and how should you decide which one to post on? Then you have to hope people find your announcement This list works as a compliment to these great information boards, but appeals to the M-TV attention span many potential employees have for the web. These job announcements go out to the exact audience you are trying to reach - CRM specialists interested in work, and it goes out fast. And if the recipient is not right for the job, there is a good chance they know someone who is - then it is a simple click-forward and the message goes to right to the type of specialist you are looking for. We all know that CRM is a small community, and with 900 enrollees, word travels fast - but the jobs need to be posted to travel.
Employer benefits:
This list provides you with instant access to the only CRM specific jobs mailing list in the world, which includes members from all continents. If you are a firm that has just landed an enormous project and need to increase your staff and need a crew of Field Technicians/Crew Chiefs/Field Directors/Principle Invistigators/Project Managers/Lab Personel/HABS-HAER specialist...you name it they are likely on this list. If you are a one person outfit, and you do not maintain a regular staff, but occasionally need extra technicians for contracts, this list is also perfect for you. Because the CRM specialists on this list come from all over the globe (the majority are in the U.S. & Canada) there are likely members in your neighborhood..
The advantage of this list to employers over a web site is that when a call for employees goes out to this list it is the equivalent of having 900 immediate hits to your web page - only by people interested in this type of work. No maintenance of the site, or having to remember to take the posting down. Just send the announcement out, and the vitas come in.
The other advantage of this list is that after you sign up you can choose "no mail/web only". This features allows you to post to the list, but not have to deal with the incoming mail. There is also a digest list available for those who only want to see a summary list of the postings.
If you need fifty people or one, for short term, or full time positions, from the field tech to directors, this is the list to announce it on.
Employee benefits:
We all know how fickle the CRM industry can be, and we have all gone through those dry spells of work. By joining this community you are becoming part of the largest "phone tree" for hearing about CRM work. But as we all get to many e-mails these days as it is, the volume on this list is edited so you only are receiving the information you really want.
Faculty benefit:
There are numerous chairs, and faculty members on this list. They pass on the messages to the students in their school interested in CRM so that they can get a feel for where the jobs are, and gear up for the big summer call for workers.
Suitable announcements:
Paid positions, some volunteer (i.e. $0 out of pocket) emergency call's for assistance in salvage operations, calls for Vita's. Sorry no field schools - there are some great web based resources for that.
Cost. $0, nada, nothing. How to join:
