Archaeologic's Index of Archaeology & Mass Media
These are links to television networks that produce, buy, sell, and air good documentaries about archaeology and ancient history. The sites that are chosen here have been selected because the editor (webmaster) has found them to air high quality programs and documentaries. Educators, in some instances, may purchase documentaries from some of these sites.
History Television
TVOntario (TVO)
The Discovery Channel (DC)
The Public Broadcast System (PBS)
The Archaeology Channel

Many of these sites also contain educational resources for teachers and educators. Though not all the webmaster's choices are 'archaeology specific', they nevertheless produce good quality articles frequently enough to merit mention here.
Archaeology Magazine
Canadian Geographic
Scientific American
National Geographic
The Mammoth Trumpet
Dig Magazine For Kids
Well, no archaeological web site would be complete without its own share of ancient astronauts, UFOS, scientific creationists, and of course "lost tribes". Prepare to be both amazed, humored, perplexed, and disgusted that in an age of science and information, people actually cling to these views. These links have been compiled by Dr. Larry Zimmerman and Dr. Richard A. Fox at the University of Dakota. Have a laugh....but hold your nose.
This area has numerous links about Atlantis, the Moundbuilder Myth, and various other "lost" tribes people would rather read about than the archaeology, autohistory, and oral traditions of "known" tribes both past and present.
When in doubt about an archaeological interpretation.....send in the extraterrestrials! They'll "help us" build ancient batteries, pyramids, and crop circles. Along the way, they'll mutilate a cow or two. And, if your REALLY luck, you'll be abducted by little grey aliens with rectal probes! Talk about your divine 'deliverance'.
Creationist and "Scientific Creationism" links. Adam & Eve, evidence of Noah's Flood, Archaeological Fakes, Conspiracy of Science, Catastrophism...its all here. Stephen Jay Gould beware!
We're not sure how to categorize some of these: A world wide conspiracy of scientists withholding "the truth" from an trusting population; the cult of the Reticulan Greys; footprints as old as coal; and much MUCH MORE!! Even Ed Conrad would be scratching his head at these!
