Privacy Policy
The Hamilton Administrators of Volunteers (HAV) is committed to maintaining the privacy of our members by establishing a policy for the collection, use and disclosure of their personal information.
Personal information means information about an identifiable individual, factual or subjective, recorded or not, such as:
- name, address, telephone number, age, ethnic origin, income, health information,
- employee records, volunteer records, evaluation, opinions, social status.
This does not include the name, title, business address or telephone number of an employee of an organization.
Collection
The HAV collects personal information from registration forms, workshops and programs in order to carry out our mandate in the volunteer management sector. The purpose for which we will collect, use and disclose your personal information is for any purposes relating to your membership and /or the provision of information concerning our programs or services.
Use
HAV will not use personal information for reasons other than for which it was originally collected. We will not collect more personal information than is required for achieving the purpose for which the information is collected.
By providing the information on the membership form, you are giving implied consent for us to use this information for the purpose of sharing this information with other members. If you do not want this information shared with other members, you will need to withdraw your consent in writing. If we intend to use your personal information for purposes other than are stated we will first obtain your consent. Pictures from HAV events may be included in the Cord. Unless you have stated that you do not give permission for these pictures to be used, implied consent will be assumed.
Disclosure
Personal information will not be disclosed to a third party without express consent (written or oral) except as required by law. If other agencies, volunteer or others, wish to contact our membership it will be done by forwarding the information to the HAV secretary, who will then forward this information to our members.
