Red Hill poems published in new anthology
The conflicts over the Red Hill Valley Expressway have prompted some local activists to express their opposition in poems.
A new collection of local poetry about the valley has been published by the anthology Hammered Out.
The introduction to the Hammered Out collection says the magazine has been receiving submissions related to the valley and the expressway now under construction and it was felt the subject deserved a special edition .
Copies of the 22-page special edition are available by mail for $5 from hammeredout_editor@hotmail.com.
The more than two dozen poets include well-established writers like Marilyn Gear Pilling and Bernadette Rule and artists better known for their visual art output such as Robert Yates, Paul Lisson and Dawn White Beatty.
