DiIanni "on trial" on Wednesday

The allegations that Larry DiIanni violated the election campaign financing law more than 30 times will be debated at City Council on Wednesday morning. The council must decide whether to order a compliance audit of the campaigns of DiIanni and eight other candidates, including councillors Tom Jackson, Bill Kelly and Terry Whitehead. The public council meeting will begin at 9:30 am at city hall.

Requests for audits have been filed by Joanna Chapman and Alice Smith. If council turns them down, they are free to ask a judge to order the audits. Reports on the process can be viewed on the website of Citizens at City Hall (CATCH):
