Mr.
McGuinty You Don't Understand!
At a recent Ontario Liberal Party luncheon in Hamilton,
Liberal leader Dalton McGuinty gave a rousing speech
about the need for strong communities in Ontario.
McGunity's speech focused on issues very near and
dear to Friends of Red Hill members' hearts - issues
like curbing sprawl, protecting greenspace, and improving
our air. His words were hopeful - promising the possibility
of a sustainable future for Ontarians, that is, until
Mr. McGuinty started to talk about the Red Hill Creek
Expressway. On Red Hill, he stated "My government
will be a committed partner in construction of that
road". After his speech, he said to the media,
"Let's get the Red Hill Creek Expressway built.
Those kinds of things enhance our quality of life
and increase productivity". So why is Mr. McGuinty
talking out of both sides of his mouth?
Mr. McGuinty just doesn't seem to have the facts!
Friends of Red Hill Valley is asking valley supporters
to write to Mr. McGuinty and help him to understand
why the Red Hill Valley is no place for a road. He
also needs to understand that building an expressway
in the valley blatantly contradicts the Ontario Liberal
Party's plan for 'growing strong communities'. In
that plan the Liberals claim they are committed to
curbing urban sprawl and protecting greenspace. You
can read the full text of this plan at www.ontarioliberal.com.
