Missing
Tape
On
Wedneday, February 16, between 8 and 9 pm, TV Hamilton Cable
14 broadcast a "hotline hour" talk show featuring regional
chairman Terry Cooke. Much of the program was devoted to
attacks on the opponents of the Red Hill Expressway. Particular
venom was directed at Heritage Minister Sheila Copps. For
the next two weeks Friends of Red Hill made a series
of attempts to obtain a copy of this program from Cable
14.
We
were told:
-
the tape does not exist;
-
the tape exists but the permission of Terry Cooke is required
to release it;
- the
tape exists and we don't need Mr. Cooke's permission,
but the tape cannot be released because it is of poor
quality.
After putting our request in writing, we received apologies
from the station manager who promised to provide a free
copy of the tape. Unfortunately the first copy provided
turned out to be for a different program and the station
then 'discovered' that the original tape had been recorded
over.
We would still like to obtain a copy of this tape. If you
can assist, please contact Don at redhill@hwcn.org.
