Earth Day Hamilton requires volunteers for the following events:

Friday April 28, 2006  - Royal Botanical Gardens
10th Annual Eco-festival

It takes over 30 volunteers to run this event!  We require both Captains and Team members.  Captains will supervise a team of volunteers in their sector.  The sectors are: transportation, registration, information table, volunteer table, exhibitor and workshop set-up, hospitality, ushers.  Please register by clicking on the

Saturday April 22 - Princess Point - Sunoco Tree Planting

Volunteers are asked to arrive no later than 9:00 am. There are no special training sessions for this event, instructions and volunteer positions will be handed out at 9:00am. Dress for the weather (it can be much cooler near the water) and bring a shovel if you have one.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ECO-FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS


Upon arrival, all volunteers must sign in and obtain their job packet at the Volunteer Table. Volunteers connect with their team and Captain and go to their assigned sector.  The volunteer badge/ribbon must worn and visible all day. Any volunteers not wearing a badge should be reported immediately!  Team-members work in pairs.  Once your team completes all of its assigned duties, you will report to your Captain for re-assignation of duties. 

Work in pairs.  If you run into a problem one volunteer will stay while the other seeks assistance.

Orientation

Every volunteer for the Eco-Festival will take part in an Orientation session at the Royal Botanical Gardens.  Upon registration you will be told the date of the Orientation.

Safety & Medical Assistance
Report injuries to the Earth Day Information Table in the lobby. Medical personnel will be on-site.

Parking and Travel
Free HSR tickets, for Earth Day only, are available at the Orientation. Parking on site costs $1 per hour.  For directions to the site see under ‘Exhibitor’ page.

Washrooms
Washrooms are located on all floors as indicated on the floor plans, which are included in your job packet.

Lunch
The Volunteer Table has a hospitality area with snacks, coffee, and juice only.  You may bring your own lunch or purchase lunch at the Garden Café. 

Lost Children and Found Items
Bring lost children and found items to the Earth Day Information Table.
