Fundraising Events
Our club has taken on many projects to improve our ice facilities, including taking out our sand base and existing pipes and putting down insulation below our new concrete floor and improved pipe system. Many more projects to upgrade other aspects of our ice facilities are planned.
Our second major project was the installation of a new dehumidification system for the arena area. This project has significantly improved our ice conditions by greatly reducing the amount of frost on the ice surface , the condensation in the roof area and the arena area during ice installation.
New more efficient heaters has been installed in the arena. Being much smaller, sight lines from the lounge area have improved for spectators watching sheets 1 and 4. The new units wil be vented so that condensation will not form on the pipes. Being more efficient, they will reduce the energy used. In addition, they will be much quieter.
Several fundraising events have been held since 2005 to offset some of the capital costs incurred thus far. In order to proceed with further projects, watch for announcements about future events to raise funds for these projects.
