5B – Smoothies & Realistic
Basically a decorative decoy. Life size. Will not be floated. Decorative painting is encouraged but no feather burning or other fine texturing. Delineation of feather groups and of the bill and elevated primaries is acceptable. There should be minimal feather sculpting and texturing.
Category 6 - Human Figures - 'In the Round' - Realistic or Stylized
Includes busts, heads, and other body parts.
Category 7 - Caricatures
Any subject. Must have exaggerated features. Carving knife marks preferable.
Category 9 – Abstract and Interpretive
Abstract - a creation that does not resemble any known subject
Interpretive - The artist's perception of a known subject but the creation is not detailed enough to be stylized.
Category 20 – Other Media
For carvings done in Soap Stone, Bone, Antlers, Golf Balls, Nuts, Etc. All Rules, Regulations & Carving Guidelines apply. There will be one Class including all categories. The winner will not be eligible for the Best of Show competition.
Categories 21 - Marquetry A separate competition, on a trial basis, with one (1) Class and a separate prize pool. All Rules, Regulations, & Carving Guidelines apply. There will be one class including all Categories. The winner will not be eligible for the Best of Show competition.
