A Christmas Tradition from Hungary - Barbara
Pusztai describes a Hungarian tradition which is illustrated on a piece of Hungarian
postal stationery. Children would construct a nativity scene from wood and cardboard. Then
the children would dress up as Shepherds and Kings and take their Nativity scene and visit
houses in the neighbourhood. At each home, the first King would ask "May we introduce
our Bethlehem?" If allowed in, with all standing around the Bethlehem Scene, each
child would tell his view of the Nativity story from his point of view as a shepherd or
king.

Vasbinder visits Argentina and Costa Rica and describes some of their Christmas
traditions.
Chatterbox - Kathy Ward describes and
illustrates the introducation of Santa's pets Jingle and Bells to the 1996 Canada Post
Santa Claus reply letter.
For Christmas 1996, Canada Post also issued panes of
Santa Claus stickers to be used on the self-adhesive greetings stamps.

Collector's Viewpoint - Mary Ann Owens, Citizens Stamp Advisory Committee
Representative. The text of Mary Ann's speech at the First Day Ceremony in Harmony, MN on
October 20, 1994. This was the occasion of CPC's 25th Anniversary celebration.
Net Ramblings - NetSTAMPS announced a One-Page Stamp Exhibition, the
first ongoing international online stamp exhibition competition.
