Feature Articles

  • From Bob's Collection Robert Haslewood illustrates a folded letter with a December 25, 1848 postmark. Bob gives us a bit of postal history to describe the franking on the cover - the United States 5 cent reddish brown colored stamp featuring Benjamin Franklin's likeness issued in 1847, 150 years ago. (Stamp use was optional until 1855)

  • Snowflake George W. Rohrer tells us about his visit to Snowflake, Arizona and the origin of the town's name.

  • Euphorbia Philatelica Poinsettias On Stamps are described by Nicole Pendleton. Nicole lists some additions to Joan Bleakley's checklist available from the ATA Checklist Service.(Reprinted from March/April issue of "Topical Time")

  • Holidays, Holidays, Holidays Allan Hauck describes the 1996 South Africa Christmas sheetlet and booklet.

  • Christmas Customs Around the World - Glenn Vasbinder concludes his series with a description of an American Christmas - which differs across the country because of the varied backgrounds of the American settlers who came from all parts of Europe.

The invitation to membership in the Christmas Philatelic Club is open to any Christmas topical philatelist who is seriously interested in associating with those who collect likewise.

Current dues are $15 per year for persons living in North America. Other Countries: $22.00 (US funds).
