describes the numerous Kentucky cancels from post offices with names having Christmas
connections. Postmarks from Mistletoe, Nicholasville, Halo, Saint Joseph and Nazareth
Kentucky are illustrated.
Auction - Mary Turner includes 180 lots of
Christmas material in this issue's auction. Stamps, First Days, Christkindls, Aerogrammes,
Seals, Cards, and many miscellaneous Christmas items are included in this auction. Since
this is a donation auction, all proceeds will go to the Club.

Ken Mackenzie Writer's Award Winner - Editor
June Berwald announces the 1996 winner of the Ken Mackenzie Writer's Award - George Rohrer
of Raleigh, North Carolina for this article "Santons-de-Provence"
which appeared in the November/December Yule Log. The article describes the Nativity
scenes and the "Little Saints" which are used in southern France.
Christmas Customs Around the World - Glenn
Vasbinder visits Brazil and describes some of Brazil's Christmas traditions.
Chatterbox - Kathy Ward discusses the rubber
stamp cachets used from Christmas, Michigan and the cancellation of Canada Post's
Christmas Card Discount program.
Net Ramblings - Kathy Ward describes some of
the resources available to Christmas stamp collectors on the World Wide Web. Illustrations
of many of the Christmas stamps, seals and postmarks used at Christmas 1996 were available
via the Club's Web Page.

The Yule Log is edited by June Berwald and is

The invitation to membership in the Christmas Philatelic
Club is open to any Christmas topical philatelist who is seriously interested in
associating with those who collect likewise.
Current dues are $15 per year for persons living in
North America. Other Countries: $22.00 (US funds).
