  • Aspects of Christmas by Ralph Fisher (64)
    A wide variety of stamps, seals, stationery and covers tells the Christmas story beginning with the Prophecy of Isaiah and continuing through the modern celebration of the season.

  • Aspects of Christmas by Maisie Pilgrim (60)
    A balance of stamps, covers and cancels tells the religious Christmas story concluding with the depiction of the full spectrum of traditional commemorations.

  • A Biblical Odyssey by Budd Dickey (36)
    Selected words from Biblical verses are matched up with the corresponding city on circular date stamp postmarks.
  • The British Post Office Father Christmas Card Service by Gilbert Lowe (85)
    This exhibit contains a comprehensive study of the Father Christmas letters sent to English children through the generosity of the British Post Office from 1963 through 1988. We see here both the envelopes with their Reindeerland indica and the Christmas cards that they contain. Many of the artist's preliminary drawings for the cards are pictured. All pertinent data covering production and delivery of these unique greetings is given.

  • The Christkindl Christchild by Lee Kleinhans. (48)

    A variety of philatelic elements is used to display the beauty of Angels. Gabriel and Christmas Angels in all their glory are here with pages highlighting their appearance and their purpose of being in the universe. Grand Award at Christmas in Minnesota '94
  • Christmas Celebrated by Suzanne Yankowski (110)
    A plethora of philatelic elements beginning with an 1855 Dec. 25 free frank cover abound in this exhibit. Part I. Christmas mail: includes covers, postal markings (mail early slogans), tied Christmas seals, postal stationery.
    Part II. The symbols and celebration of Christmas: includes the star, candles, bells, trees, gift-giving and givers, parades, carols, churches and more. Gold and Grand Award at '91 St. Petersburg Show.
  • Christmas Dimensions by Betty Van Tenac (128)
    The many dimensions of Christmas reflecting varying attitudes of faith and face. Wide variety of philatelic items. International Gold Part A: The Christmas Saga from Adam and Eve through the fulfilment. (28)

  • The Christmas Discount Postal Code Actions of Canada Post 1968-88 by Dr. Frans H.A. Rummens (60)
    This exhibit documents the Stick 'n Tick actions of 1983- 84 and the booklet discount actions of 1985-88. A multitude of both correct and invalid uses are shown. Many postal ancillaries are also illustrated.
  • Christmas Greetings from Down Under by Irene Sedgwick (42)
    "Christmas Greetings" from 1947 through 1986 show casing Australian stamps, slogans and aerogrammes.
  • Christmas is Coming by Kathy Ward (48)
    Four sections highlight the aspects of Christmas: The First Christmas, Santa, Post Office at Christmas and Elements of Christmas. Silver-bronze at PITTPEX '90.

  • Christmas, United States by Clarence E. Wills (16)
    Novice exhibit shown in 1995 at Black River Stamp Club, Elyria, Ohio. The US Christmas stamps are shown as singles, blocks, on 1st day and commemorative covers, some with special "Christmas" postmarks.

    A guide on how to best display the thematic collection as a competitive exhibit with pages from several exhibits illustrating the right and wrong way to proceed.

    This is the exhibit shown in Washington D.C. at WORLD STAMP EXPO '89 under the sponsorship of ATA. An excellent variety of Christmas philatelic material shows the dimensions that Christmas collecting can encompass.

    A critique by Ms. Owens of a portion of her world famous, award winning exhibit showing pages from the exhibit with accompanying text that illustrates different ways to show material both thematically and philatelically.
  • Essays and Proofs of the 1939 Christmas Seal by Douglas Lehmann (16)
    Design essays, original artwork and several examples of negative maker's proofs give an insight into the design and printing process for the 1939 United States Christmas seal. Vermeil SPRINGPEX '92.
  • The Fleeting, Eternal Snowflake by Dorothy Henderson
    A brief treatise on the snowflake illustrated with both stamps and cancels.
  • Holy Family II by Joan Klimchalk (80)
    This is the progression of an earlier exhibit based on scripture which tells the story of Jesus, Mary and Joseph going back to Anne and Joachim then proceeding through the events of Jesus' birth and the family's moves to Egypt and Nazareth. A dated chronology has been added from "The Diary of Jesus" by Jean Aulognier based on the visions of Maria Valtorta. Silver COMPEX '91
  • The Holy Family by Joan Klimchalk. (48)
    The words of Matthew and Luke from the New Testament tell the story of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, covering the Annunciation through the family's life at Nazareth. The illustrations show a wide variety of philatelic items from over 90 stamp issuing entities.
  • I Heard the Bells by Cathie Osborne (48)
    Christmas bells on stamps, stationery and cancellations.
  • I Heard the Bells 1989 by Cathie Osborne (64)
    Three sections showcase stamps, covers, souvenir sheets, postcards, postal stationery and booklets that depict bells. Bronze Award ROMPEX 1989.

  • The Impact of Christmas by Dorothy Martin (17) Selected pages from a large Christmas collection retells the Nativity Story and then shows some ways Christmas is celebrated around the world.
  • Japanese Paintings by Denise Stotts (79)
    Japanese paintings present a sweeping view of the country's history and culture. A wide range of philatelic material picturing this art is grouped here by seven subjects among them religion, literature, people and nature. This exhibit has received numerous awards including a Vermeil at WSP Plymouth Show, April 1989.
  • The Muskoka Free Hospital for Consumptives by Kaare Askgaard (73)
    Seals issued by The National Sanatorium Association for three hospitals in Canada - The Muskoka Free Hospital for Consumptives, The Toronto Free Hospital for Consumptives and The Queen Mary Hospital for Consumptive Children, 1908-1963. Illustrated are singles, panes, booklet covers, misperfs, tied-on-cover examples. Images are typical Christmas with many Santas.

    Shows the Christmas stamps of Canada 1898, 1964-1976. Stamps only.
  • Nutcrackers and Other Wooden Toys by Simine Short (16)
    Nutcrackers as tool, toy and decor plus other hand-crafted wooden ware with the history of their development in the Ore Mountains region of Germany. Many philatelic elements.
  • A Philatelic Life of Christ by Joan Klimchalk (82)
    A re-telling of the story of "The Life of Christ" using quotations from the New Testament as text. Primarily stamps, but a few other philatelic varieties.

  • Poinsettia by Ethel Council (16)

    A commemoration of Pope John Paul II stressing his travels, using both philatelic and collateral material.
  • Quotable Quotes by Maisie Pilgrim (30)
    Quotations from Socrates through Anonymous illustrated with stamps, postmarks and postal stationery.
  • Runners and Blades by Vincent R. Leonardson (60)
    Stamps and cancellations picture the uses either for fun or in competition (includes Winter Olympics) of sleighs, skiis, toboggans and skates. Town cancels also document the places of some events and the elements needed for the use of the vehicles. Bronze at ARIPEX '91.
  • Santa Claus by Christina Howland (12)
    The Santa legend as pictured mainly on stamps from around the world. A few cancellations and examples of related postal stationery are included. Bronze/People's Choice Award CALCOPEX '92.
  • Santa Claus: A Living Legend by Joan Klimchalk (128)
    A wide range of philatelic materials documents the Santa Legend from St. Nicholas to the present time.

  • Stille Nacht, Helige Nacht Around the World by Albert Spencer (80)
    This exhibit is a celebration of the hymn by Franz Gruber and Josef Mohr. Commemorative stamps on this subject, postal cards with related indica and cachets are displayed. A large section showing related cancellations could stand as an exhibit in itself. Other related collateral and philatelic material gives us a feeling for the universality of appeal of this famous carol. Bronze Award ROMPEX 1989.
  • The Story of the Creche by Dorothy Henderson (18)
    Stamps depict the story of the creche from St. Francis to the present.
  • To Be An Angel by Daryl Kibble (16)
    Includes traditional angels and Greek Gods as Hermes who acted as messengers for other Gods plus "fallen angels", devils and demons.

  • U.S. Celebrates Christmas by Gwen Herker (15)
    Selected United States Christmas stamps are shown along with many issues on First Day Covers, beginning with 1962 and continuing through the early 1980's. Awarded a novice award and voted most popular at ARIPEX 1989.
  • A Victorian Christmas by Dorothy Martin (23)
    Victorian era feasting, decorations, entertainment, greeting cards and Dec. 25 mail are all seen in this presentation.
  • We Three Kings by Pat Dillenschneider (63)
    Stamps and souvenir sheets are divided into four frames with dates of issue and the designers given throughout.
    I. The Kings in original stamp art.
    II. The Kings in different media.
    III. The Kings in church art.
    IV. The Kings in classical art.

  • Where does Santa Claus Live? by Kathy Ward (32)

  • Winged Charity - The 1939 Christmas Seal by Douglas K. Lehmann (32) This exhibit has three sections.
    I. The Seals
    II. The Covers
    III. The Look-a-Like Publicity.
    Has excellent scope showing essay, proofs and plate varieties. Also includes much publicity and promotional material. Silver PITTPEX '90.
