About the Hamilton Temple

IMPORTANT NEWS! As of Saturday 7th August the Hamilton W.C.C. will be meeting at the Sky Dragon Centre, located at 27 King William Street in downtown Hamilton. Classes will be held in the downstairs Bread and Roses Café from 4:30 to 6:30 PM, and rituals starting at 8:00 PM on the second floor.

What is the Wiccan Church of Canada? The answer is simple: like any other church, we are a community of like-minded individuals who gather together to worship the Gods.

The goal of the Wiccan Church of Canada is threefold:

First, to assist practicing Wiccans in acheiving a spiritual balance that brings them into true harmony with the Gods;
Second, to bring to the non-Wiccan population an understanding that we are a positive, reputable and life-affirming religion;
Third, to achieve for Wiccans the same rights and freedoms enjoyed by other more mainstream religions.

We seek to provide:

Spiritual counseling
Teaching
Ritual
Advocacy for religious freedoms
Contacts within the larger pagan community
Community outreach
Rites of passage for those who deem them necessary

The Wiccan Church of Canada is a family-friendly organization, and those with small children are more than welcome.

At this time our community outreach is focused on Hamilton Food Share. Ten percent of monetary donations we receive go to Hamilton Food Share, and for every dollar of donations they receive, they raise five through assorted buying and fundraising techniques. We also run a food bank which is taken to Food Share around the solar festivals (the vernal and autumnal equinoxes, and the summer and winter solstices) and which is also used to help out any members of our own community who may need it.

Hamilton Food Share sent us a letter of thanks for our past donations, and also to let us know that their services are needed now more than ever, considering the current economic climate. You can read this letter here. In light of this, we hope we can beat last year's record for donations to Food Share and thereby help make things easier for Hamilton's disadvantaged families.

We are extremely pleased to announce that at Pagan Pride Day 2009, we raised $133 for Hamilton Food Share. As they generate ten dollars for every dollar they recieve, that amounts to $1330! We also took in over 160 pounds of food! A huge thanks to all who contributed! Keep up the good work!
