Internet Mail for Macintosh

The following are instructions on how to manually set up your email account. It is recommended that you print a copy of this page for future reference.

  1. Open Internet Mail & News.

  2. From the Finder choose Edit > Preferences.

  3. Click on E-mail in the left hand column (under the Mail & News section).

  4. Personal Settings: fill in your name, email address, and organization (if applicable).
    Sending Mail: fill in the SMTP Host
    ..... For dial-up use smtp.hwcn.org
    ..... For high speed use smtp.pppoe.ca
    Receiving Mail: for Account ID fill in your User ID, POP Host (pop.hwcn.org), and password.
    Account name: enter HWCN.

  5. Click Advanced. Put a check next to Delete Received Mail From Server. Click OK.

  6. Click on OK
