Helpdesk Info ::

Helpdesk Info

  1. The helpdesk number is 905.528.9334. Please do not call the office number with a technical support question.

  2. When calling the helpdesk, please have your User ID ready. (i.e. aa001). If you do not know your User ID then you must know the name of the person the account is registered to or the email address of the account.

  3. If you are calling to renew your account, please have your credit card information ready.

  4. If you are calling to change your password, you will need to know the verifying name you gave when you signed up.

  5. Please know the nature of your problem. Reporting the specific wording of any error messages and/or error codes are very helpful in trying to solve your problem quickly and efficiently. If possible, explain what it was you were doing at the time that the error occurred.

  6. The helpdesk can become very busy at times.
  • If we cannot take your call right away, please leave a message stating your name, User ID and the nature of your call or problem.

  • If necessary, please state a time that is convenient for us to call you back. The usual practice is to deal with messages on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS.

  1. The helpdesk provides technical support for your HWCN Internet connection, your HWCN E-mail, account renewals and HWCN account information in general. The helpdesk cannot provide support for the installation or use of hardware or software not provided by HWCN.

  2. If you are not comfortable setting up a connection on your own machine, HWCN will do so, by appointment, at our location in the library. Please do not come to the office with your computer without an appointment. Appointments are required to ensure there is a helpdesk person available to assist you with your machine.
