Tags: <PRE>, </PRE>

The preformatting command shows text between paired tags exactly as you enter it in word processing software, or another editor, showing all tabs, spaces and carriage returns. An empty line is added before and after the preformatted text.

You need this command to display information in a table or columns in your home page in the Lynx text-only browser.

Do not use the preformatting command in place of any other HTML codes that format text, unless you cannot get the exact look you want without it. Unnecessary overuse of the preformatting command is considered bad HTML.
