Get Intervenor Status
A
court decision in early June clarified and expanded the
intervenor status of Friends of Red Hill Valley in
the court battle between the Region and the federal government
over the federal environmental assessment.
An affidavit filed by Friends on the natural history
of the valley has been accepted by the court. In addition,
Friends requested and was granted the right to cross-examine
one of the Region's key witnesses. Friends will also
be able to make oral and written arguments to the court
hearings in November.
The
Region opposed even these limited intervenor rights but
their arguments were rejected by the court.
